Diane Gravel is a certified genealogist, specializing in New Hampshire research. She lectures frequently on the subject, and also speaks on genealogical research techniques and methodology. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, but lived in Miami, Florida, for 25 years before moving to Thornton, New Hampshire, in 2001. She has served as Vice President of the New Hampshire Society of Genealogist and President of the New England Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists. Diane was co-editor of Volume I of New Hampshire Families in 1790, published in 2007 by the New Hampshire Society of Genealogists and is currently working on Volume II. Michael Sherman is the editor of Vermont History, the journal of the Vermont Historical Society, and adjunct professor of history and culture in the MA program of the Union Institute & University. He is the co-author with Gene Sessions and P. Jeffrey Potash of Freedom and Unity: A History of Vermont, published in 2004, and author of articles and reviews on Vermont history and the humanities in public life. He edited and contributed to a volume on Vermont State Government and Administration since 1965, four books of essays on Vermont history, a books of essays on productivity, and on the humanities and public life. Sherman is also a baker at The Manghis' Bakery, a small, family-owned business in Montpelier.
