Charles is listed in the 1810 census in Cockburn, Coos County, NH. In 1820 he was in Boone Co, KY. He died in Indiana. |

My family was in N.H. before and after 1800. My Joel Read moved to Albany, N.Y.. His father Rufus Read lived and died in Chesire? Co. His father, David Read also lived in the area, as did a host of others. Check Benjamin Read's book for the reference to the "Westport" Reads. Also they were married to the Ware Family. Have info on Joel Read after he left to date. Recently ws accepted into NSSAR on David Read, Jr. who lived and died in N.H. after moving there from Mass. Regards. Donald W. Read |
