Emily and Peter lived in Wadsworth Village, OH in the Summer of 1870. Their children were Lillie (b.1855 or 1856) and Nehimiah (b.1843 or 1844). |

Amadon, Amedon, Ameden - John Amidon, b. 10 OCT 1771 at Oxford, MA. Accompanied parents Philip & Eunice Shumway to Chesterfield, NH in 1779, moving again in 1783 to Fitzwilliam, NH. John m. Roxalena/Roxy Leach of Chesterfield 3 JUL 1798 at Claremont/Wendell, NH. Children: unnamed son, b. 20 SEP 1799 who d. in infancy; Hortensia b. 4 AUG 1800, m. Enoch Whiton Gardner; Ahial, b. 1802, a farmer who d. 10 AUG 1874 at Claremont; and Roxanna, b.? m. Thomas Newman of Portland, ME & lived in NY. It is alleged that he removed to New Ireland, Quebec about 1805 without wife or children. "This same John" is said to have been the one who m. Sarah Thurber, b. 26 AUG 1792, by whom he had 13 children, the first being Charles Reily Amadon, b. 9 APR 1814 at New Ireland, P.Q. No further record of Roxalena Leach Amidon has been found (parents, death, etc.), and no specific information of John of NH being linked to John of Quebec has been found. I'm indebted to Arnold S. Foote, Family Historian of The Amadon/Amidon Family Association, for this information. |
